Accessibility Statement
Last updated: 4 June 2026
97.5 Kemet FM wants its website (975kemetfm.com) to be usable by as many people as possible. We’re committed to making our site accessible and inclusive for the whole community.
Our commitment
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA — the recognised standard for accessible websites.
What we’ve done to make this site accessible
We designed and built the site with accessibility in mind, including:
- Clear, consistent navigation and a “skip to content” link.
- A single, descriptive main heading on each page and properly ordered headings.
- Text alternatives (alt text) for images, including presenter and show photos.
- A live audio player you can operate with the keyboard alone, with clear labels (e.g. “Play 97.5 Kemet FM live”) and visible focus.
- Colour contrast that meets AA (light text and gold/green accents tested against the dark background), and we never rely on colour alone to convey meaning.
- A layout that reflows to a single column on small screens and when text is enlarged.
- Respect for the “reduce motion” setting — animations (like the equaliser) are reduced or stopped if you’ve asked your device for less motion.
- Support for screen readers, with appropriate roles and labels on controls.
How accessible this website is
We believe most of the site meets WCAG 2.2 AA. We know some areas may still need work, and we’re continuing to improve. Some content provided by third parties (such as the embedded live-stream player or social media content) may not be fully under our control, and we’ll work with those providers to improve it where we can.
